Minturn & Eagle Vail Restaurants
As you move west from Vail you come to the confluence of Gore Creek and the Eagle River. If you get off the interstate, and take Highway 6 & 24 south, you’ll find yourself rolling into the historic mining town of Minturn. Incorporated in 1904, Minturn is one of the oldest towns in Eagle County. Today it maintains its Old West charm with an eclectic selection of eateries. You can also ski or snowboard here from Vail's Game Creek Bowl, on the famous Minturn Mile—which brings you to the storied Minturn Saloon at the end of that backcountry odyssey. Recently renovated by Connie and Tony Mazza, The Minturn Saloon, built in 1901 is ready for its next century of serving up refreshing margaritas and elevated Tex-Mex.
Follow along the Eagle River as you head toward the bedroom community of Eagle Vail. This stretch of Highway 6 is often referred to as the “green mile” for the abundance of dispensaries that are concentrated there. There are some gastronomic gems to be found, including a café, a brew pub and taco truck, as well as a locals' favorite for authentic Italian — Ristorante Ti Amo. A little off the beaten path and well worth the trip!
